WHICH YOGA CLASS IS BEST FOR ME: BEGINNERS OR GENERAL?

Although all our Yoga classes are open to beginners, if you have no previous
Yoga experience you may prefer to start in one of our Beginners Classes.

BEGINNERS YOGA CLASSES

  • Designed for those without any Yoga experience.

  • Small classes

  • Introduces basic postures with instructions for focusing attention and
    combining breath & movement. Guides you through deep relaxation practice.

  • Also a good place to start if you need to review the basics.

    GENERAL YOGA CLASSES

  • Mixed-level; beginners & continuing students are welcome.

  • Small classes

  • Some previous experience is helpful, though not required.

  • Presents Ayurvedic concepts for health & self-understanding.

  • Trains you to maintain calm awareness during your Yoga class that can expand
    into your daily life.

    No. People of all shapes and sizes benefit from, and enjoy Yoga practice, and are welcome to participate in our classes. Over time, your level of flexibility will improve, so "come as you are!"


    HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A YOGA CLASS?

  • To attend a Yoga class on a walk-in basis, call or email us the day of the
    class to confirm that there is an opening.

  • To schedule a private Yoga session, please call or email us.


    WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE MY FIRST YOGA CLASS?

  • It is helpful to arrive 15 minutes early.
  • Refrain from eating for two hours before class, if possible.
  • You may want to bring a Yoga Mat or large towel.
  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • You may wear socks or go barefooted for class.
  • Remember to turn off your cell phone before class begins.
  • Avoid wearing perfumes or fragrances: many people are sensitive or allergic to
    them.


    WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS A CLASS?

  • If the Yoga Meditation & Therapy Center cancels a Yoga class you have paid for,
    we will provide a make-up class or apply the credit to the next session.

  • Credit, make-up classes or refunds are not available for classes missed by
    students for other reasons.


    WHAT IF I AM DEALING WITH AN INJURY OR CHRONIC HEALTH CONCERN?

  • Our instructors are experienced in modifying techniques, teaching students
    to practice wisely within their unique limits.

  • Please tell us before you register, so we can help you choose a class & inform
    the instructor (so you benefit most from your Yoga class).

  • Depending on your situation, we may ask you to consult with your physician
    before registering for a class.

  • We also offer private Yoga sessions, to adapt exercises to your needs and to
    prepare you for a group class, if possible.


    DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS?

  • Yes. We offer a NEW STUDENT DISCOUNT (20% off) the first time you register for a Yoga Class Series. This discount may not be combined with other discounts.

  • If you register for more than one Yoga class per week, you will
    receive a 10% discount on the classes.

  • With our 8-month membership ($30), you receive a 10% discount on Yoga classes
    and on any nutritional supplements you purchase from us. If you have completed
    our Meditation Starter Course, membership entitles you to attend our Group
    Meditation Practice Sessions at no charge.

  • You may apply both the multiple-class discount and the membership discount.
